Ugh, you have my TOTAL sympathy. I practically freak out just *hearing* about lice – I have no idea how I’d handle it (you’d be sure to get a teary phone call). I’m sure the post-traumatic stress has caused lingering nightmares for anyone who has been through it. GAH.

After so long on decaf (6 years of trying, gestating, and lactating) I find that caffeine now makes me jittery and hungry, so I reserve the coffee and caffeinated tea for about 1/2 an hour before meetings I suspect will be less than riveting.

I rarely get to the bathroom till mid morning and I often gasp and say “I look like That!”. Thankfully my coworkers are used to it and rarely make fun of me.

I sometimes think I should wear makeup at work, especially when I take stock of all the women around the table at meetings and notice I’m the only one without it… but then the thought of the money to buy it and the time to apply and remove it, coupled with the utter lack of expectation that men should bother with it makes me think “screw it”.

Ugh, it seems everywhere I go these days, I catch a glimpse of my reflection and am horrified at my paleness and the circles under my eyes. Even when the kids were babies, I never looked so much like death warmed over. I’ve been meaning for ages to learn something, anything, about makeup, but sigh, no time, no energy.

I need you to give me a professional lady training session .
